The Smile and The Silence !!!

The Smile and The Silence

They were an extraordinary team!
Silence and Smile!
But which came first?
Perhaps a proverb may help...

Silence precedes the desire to speak, just like the first step precedes the long journey.

Silence was always feeling blocked, he had so much to say! And when he finally decided to say what was on his mind, you know what happened? He couldn’t speak!

Smile didn’t know what was going on around him, and he didn’t know how to express himself, so he just smiled! But he knew that a smile comes before laughter and the understanding of the world!

So he decided to tell a story:

“A long time ago, people didn’t know what heaven was! So as the sun was setting and darkness fell, they would run away and seek a place to hide from the night!”

As time went by, they realized that by closing their eyes they could protect themselves!
Some of them realized that the night could take them to better places, and this is when dreams started!!
Some others would get lost inside themselves, and this is how nightmares began!!

Everyone would follow their star path. And little by little, tiny particles of light became huge constellations!

And the original individual journey was transformed into a joyous adventure that we now call Humanity!!!

If some see the silence as a lack of sounds, others may view it as a gift to better understand their fellow neighbors, and continue to shape and construct a better world !!

TAO TE CHING - LAO TZU - 64 (PART 2/2)

If you are as careful at the end
As you were at the beginning,
you won't be disappointed.

Therefore the sage desires non-desire,
Does not value rare goods,
Studies the unlearnable
So that she can correct the mistakes of average people
And aid all things in manifesting their true nature

Without presuming to take the initiative.

JOHN DONNE (1572-1631)

ELEGY XII - HIS PARTING FROM HER

Think, heaven hath motion lost, and the world, fire :
Much more I could, but many words have made
That, oft, suspected which men would persuade;
Take therefore all in this: I love so true,
As I will never look for less in you.

Pensa que o céu perdeu o movimento, e o mundo fogo:
Muito mais diria, mas muito palavreado torna
Suspeito aquilo que os homens persuadiria.
Considera tudo nisto: eu amo tão verdadeiramente,

Summertime, and the livin' is easy
Fish are jumpin' and the cotton is high
Oh, your daddy's rich and your ma is good-lookin'
So hush little baby, Don't you cry

One of these mornings you're gonna rise up singing
And you'll spread your wings and you'll take to the sky
But 'til that morning, there ain't nothin' can harm you
With Daddy and Mammy standin' by

Summertime, and the livin' is easy
Fish are jumpin' and the cotton is high
Oh, your daddy's rich and your ma is good-lookin'
So hush little baby, Don't you cry

One of these mornings you're gonna rise up singing
And you'll spread your wings and you'll take to the sky
But 'til that morning, there ain't nothin can harm you
With Daddy and Mammy standin' by

Gershwin: Rhapsody in Blue ∙ hr-Sinfonieorchester ∙ Fazıl Say ∙ Carlos ...

Rhapsody in Blue is a 1924 musical composition by American composer George Gershwin for solo piano and jazz band, which combines elements of classical music with jazz-influenced effects.
Commissioned by bandleader Paul Whiteman, the composition was orchestrated by Ferde Grofé several times, including the original 1924 scoring, "theater orchestra" setting published in 1926, and the symphony orchestra scoring published in 1942, though completed earlier. The piece received its premiere in the concert, An Experiment in Modern Music, which was held on February 12, 1924, in Aeolian HallNew York, by Whiteman and his band with Gershwin playing the piano.
The editors of the Cambridge Music Handbooks opined that "The Rhapsody in Blue (1924) established Gershwin's reputation as a serious composer and has since become one of the most popular of all American concert works."[1]

Louis Armstrong - Hello Dolly

I said hello, Dolly,
Well, hello, Dolly
It's so nice to have you back where you belong
You're lookin' swell, Dolly
I can tell, Dolly
You're still glowin'
You're still crowin'
You're still goin' strong
I feel that room swayin'
While the band's playin'
One of your old favourite songs from way back when
So take her wrap, fellas
Find her an empty lap, fellas
Dolly'll never go away again

I said hello, Dolly
Well, hello, Dolly
It's so nice to have you back where you belong
You're lookin' swell, Dolly
I can tell, Dolly
You're still glowin'
You're still crowin'
You're still goin' strong
I feel the room swayin'
While that ole band keeps on playin'
One of your old favourite songs from way back when
So golly, gee, fellas
Find her an empty knee, fellas
Dolly'll never go away
I said she'll never go away
Dolly'll never go away again

Kipling

If

If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you
But make allowance for their doubting too,
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or being lied about, don't deal in lies,
Or being hated, don't give way to hating,
And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise;

If you can dream--and not make dreams your master,
If you can think--and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two impostors just the same;
If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
And stoop and build 'em up with worn-out tools;

If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it all on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings
And never breath a word about your loss;
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: "Hold on!"

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with kings --nor lose the common touch,
If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you;
If all men count with you, but none too much,
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds' worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And --which is more-- you'll be a Man, my son!

I CHING

41. KOU - COMING TO MEE

The image is that of a spring reverting to the inside of the mountain during a time of drought.

By returning to its quiet center during the time of decrease, it avoids evaporating and exhausting itself in vain.

To try to force progress by arguing, manipulating, or making excuses will only bring your own downfall.

Van Gogh, Sower with Setting Sun, June 1888. Oil on canvas, 64.2 x 80.3 cm. Kröller-Müller Museum, Otterlo.

"Oh, the beautiful sun down here in high summer;

it beats down on your head

and I have no doubt at all that it drives you crazy.

Now being that way already,

all I do is enjoy it."

bibliotecas do planeta.

http://www.wdl.org/

O sistema propõe as

1. First of all you must believe
in your intuition !!!
Trust in your inner self !

2. The things from outside
have their times ,
not our times !
Try to see it ,
and learn with !!!

3. Don't create a lot of defenses
with poor excuses !!!
We must learn to suffer
and to finish the suffering !!!

Last words of "The Time Machine" H.G. Wells

" And I have by me, for my comfort,
two strange white flowers - shrivelled now,
and brown and flat and brittle -
to witness that even
when mind and strength had gone,
gratitude and a mutual tenderness
still lived on in the heart of man. "
