"As early as 1950, Enrico Fermi asked "Where is
everybody? - the Fermi-Hart paradox. He noted that
there are many suns billions of years older than ours
, that life should have evolved on planets around
those suns, and that - if interstellar travel is possible
- aliens should have developed it billions of years
ago, should have colonised the galaxy within a million
years or so and hence we should be hip deep in
interstellar travellers. So where are they?."
